Custom decorative hood incorporating the wall panels of the house
Inspired by nature and wide open fields, our clients chose to build a farmhouse-style home that blends rustic authenticity with modern sensibility. To ensure the kitchen aligned seamlessly with the rest of the house, we incorporated shiplap panelling on the range hood and backsplash. The soft green island echoes the surrounding greenery, while the cloud-white cabinetry adds a touch of softness—creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels perfectly in tune with the natural setting.
Farmhouse style typically falls into two main aesthetics: traditional and modern. Traditional farmhouse design leans into rustic charm, featuring vintage furniture, classic patterns like plaid, and rich colours such as deep burgundy and forest green. Modern farmhouse, on the other hand, brings in clean lines, neutral palettes, and subtle nods to early American architecture. It often embraces minimalism and modern finishes, sometimes drawing influence from Scandinavian design for a fresh, timeless appeal.
